Tagged Again

I got tagged again. I have to list seven random facts about myself and then tag seven people. Since my bloggin buddy list isn't very long, all of you better watch out.

Here are the rules.
#1 Link to the person that tagged you.http://woodardfamily.blogspot.com/
#2 Post the rules on your blog.
#3 Share seven random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog.
#4 Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
# 5 Leave a comment on their blogs so that they know they have been tagged.

#1 I love fight scenes in movies. Some of my favorites are:
The beginning of Casino Royal
Any of the Borne movies
Those are the ones I can think of right now, if I have some others I will let you all know.

#2 I don't know how to drive a manual transmission. I tried and and tried when I was 16 but I never quite got the hang of it.

#3 If I had my dream job outside of the house it would be a curator in an art museum. I love the impressionists. I cried when I saw a Monet at the National Gallery of Art in DC.

#4 Things I have tried to enjoy but I just cant:
running the Snake River
skiing
jumping off the houseboat at Lake Powell
haunted houses
water skiing
I guess you could say I am an indoor kind of gal. I know lame.

#5 Thanks to Lynae and Mandy for letting me be there for the birth of their kids. Watching a new baby come into the world is one of the most exciting things I have ever seen.

#6 I love Ikea. I could spend the whole day their. Everything they make is cute and functional. I even like their meatballs. For a cheap meal you should try it out.

#7 I wish I had a beautiful yard. You know the ones they write about in magazines. I love flowers and plants. If I had a lot of money I would hire the Garden Store to come and make my dream come true.

That was hard. I guess that means I am really boring. So I guess I tag;

Mom http://under-standing.blogspot.com/
Shannon http://wslovell.blogspot.com/
Charnae http://naewar.blogspot.com/
Kate http://wearejimandkate.com/
Jim http://wearejimandkate.com/
Matt Baker http://thebakerbloggers.blogspot.com/

I know that's only six. I cant think of anyone else. Sorry.

Henry

Henry had his birthday yesterday. I can’t believe how fast time goes when you are a mom. There are days when I feel like I will be in little kid stage forever, and I have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy my time with them.

I remember the day he was born and how overwhelming new motherhood was for me. I wish I could go back with the knowledge I have now and relive his babyhood. He has always been a little guy. His height and weight have always been in the 5th percentile or less. When he was one the doctor told me I had to fatten him up. His diet included whole milk, cream, ice cream, butter and almost anything high fat and some what nutritious I could get him to eat.

He started talking at a young age and he has enjoyed it ever since. I was amazed he knew his colors by 17 months. He had a little
bit of a lisp which I had forgotten about until I was watching home movies recently.

We lived with Jeff’s parents when he was born and Grandma Shannon couldn’t get enough of him, which was a life saver for me. She had the touch, all I had to do was hand him over and he would be asleep in minuets. When he got old enough to open the door and crawl up the stairs he would go and visit grandma. She would ask " Henry does your mom know where you are?" and he would just smile.

Henry was the first grandchild born on my side of the family so needless to say he was a bit spoiled. My mom and Henry have a special little bond and I am so grateful for her help in raising him. Henry would always ask my mom for chapit (chap stick).

Henry I am so proud of you. You are a good kid. I know I have made plenty of mistakes and I know I will make some more. Thanks for the lessons you have helped me learn. I love you buddy and I am excited to see what the next eight years will bring. HOLY SMOKES you will be sixteen then, so never mind. Can you just stay eight forever?

I got tagged

Ok, so I am secretly excited that someone tagged me. Thanks Charnae you made me feel loved. I did just clean out my purse so it looks better than usual.

My cute red wallet. I got it in Burbank at a great store called Sky Blue Pink on my thirtieth birthday. It is wearing out and that makes me sad. I guess I will just have to go and visit Jim and Kate and get a new one.

My big tub of extra super sticky hand cream and chap stick. Like Charnae proof that it is winter.

My cell phone. I can't leave home without it. Who would have thought not having your phone could make you feel like you left the house without your pants on.

A binky, a Cars Bic pen, and a zoo pass. Proof that I am a mom.

Pain reliever in an old RX bottle. You just never know when your going to need an Advil.

2 Mary Kay lip glosses. Even on ugly days a little lip gloss can help. Well maybe.

Altiods. I just love the chocolate covered ones.

A pic of Syd and Owen. Is it weird that I have a picture of my niece and nephew and not my own kids?

A Wendy’s receipt. The jig is up I love 2 casers side salads with reduced fat ranch dressing and a Coke for lunch.

My ipod should be in there. Man, which means I left it in the car and I have to go out in the cold and get it.

Well there you go. Isn’t that exciting? Thanks again Charnae for the tag it was fun. So I tag Jenny Baker and Kristen, lets see some of things you carry around everyday in your purse.

Grandmas Birthday

Today we celebrated Grandmas 85th birthday. It was tons of fun. We went to The Cowboy Grub (Grandmas favorite resturant) and had lunch. I am so greatful for my grandma and the time we have spent together. She is one of my best friends and I love her. I have so many fond memories of my grandma so I thought I would share some of the best.
Summer time at my grandma's house. We sit on the back porch with a rootbeer float and watch the kids play in the sprinklers.
The smell of her house.
Her stories of when she was raising children. I love to imagine her as a young mother.
Her homemade bread. I have never eaten any better.
Having a sleep over at her house with my kids.
I cant begin to list all of my memories. I have been blessed to have her in my life.
I love you grandma and I treasure our time together. Thank you for all you have done for me. I hope we make many more memories.

SO COLD!!!!!

Our furnace smelled of gas and we became a little nervous to run it. We decided to shut it off and call in the professionals to come and take a look. We went Sunday night without heat and it wasn’t too bad, it only got down to 60. The kids and I spent Monday in the living room with a nice fire. I read most of the day and didn’t even feel guilty because the rest of the house was too cold. We went to bed Monday night not knowing that we would wake up to a 53 degree house. It really doesn’t sound that cold but I am here to tell you it is cold. I put Lucy and Frankie in my bed with a bunch of blankets and told them to stay put. Thank goodness Henry was able to go to school where there was heat. We got someone to come and put in a new furnace on Tuesday and I have never been so glad for heat in my life.

Battle of the beads

This was a battle of the wills. Frankie spilled the beads on the floor and I was determined HE was going to pick them up, and he was determined that I was going to pick them up. He told me no I told him yes. I put him in the time out chair, he cried and told me he was ready to come out and pick up. He would then put them in the little bowl and the spill them again. This continued for about a half an hour. Finally he came out of time out for about the tenth time and just lay on the floor and flicked the beads. I had had it so I just left him alone. Five minutes later he was sound asleep. It was a mom moment and as frustrated as I was I couldn't help but smile.

January Blues

I am so done with January! This month just seems to draaaaaaaag on. I am tired of the snow, I am tired of the cold, and I miss the sun. Is there anyone out there who feels my pain? I look out my bedroom window at the snow covered swing set and I am counting the days until my kids are out there in their shorts and sandals.

So for any of you that feel the same way I do, I am sorry. I try to make myself feel better by remembering the fourth of July and working in my yard on a hot summer evening. If anyone else has a good summer memory please share.
