Nothing Really

I always think that if I am going to blog it has to be about something. Well I am here to tell you not much goes on around here. Did you know that having one kid at home makes you lazy? Well it does. Come nap time I plop myself down in front of the computer eat and do mindless things, like play Webkinz. It is a nasty habit and I just might need a 12 step program. Can you picture it? Me and a bunch of five to twelve years olds talking about how we can't make it through the day unless we have done our virtual job or earned 1000 kinz cash. My life is sad.

I know I have been away for a while and you all probably thought I had joined Green Peace and was saving the world. Well I wasn't I was just playing Webkinz and being lazy. Now I have to go and make sure that Black Night (my virtual horse) makes it to school.

A Confession

This is what my house looks like this fine Monday morning. Just thought I would you make you feel better about yourself and your home today. You can thank me later.

I hope you think this is as funny as I did....

I am head over heels in love with this kid.

He is by far the most different of my children.

I try to keep him clean, but he is just one of those kids that no matter what you do he is always little bit messy.

He is also not much of a bath lover. He and I have an understanding that if I can't remember the last day he had a bath, then its time to fill up the tub.

Well Monday just happened to be one of the days that I was pretty sure it was bath day for Frank.

We were having a lazy summer morning that day, when panic struck and I remembered we had doctors appointments. I ran around like a mad women barking at the kids to get dressed, brush your hair, wash your hands.

We made it to the doctors on time and I was relieved. Things were going great. We did the usual pre-checkup things like getting weighed, checking height, answering questions and getting undressed.

We then waited for the doctor and Frank played with the toys and doctors spinny stool. That's when I saw it.......a HUGE skid on the bum of Franks underpants. I was mortified. What was the doctor going to think?

I decided to play it honest. I told her I had forgotten our appointments this morning and we didn't have time for bathes. I didn't specifically mention the skid hoping this was enough of an explanation. She probably understood the no bath but I am sure she thought "at least have him change his underwear."

I now find this story very amusing and I laugh every time I think about it. I am not so sure the doctor thinks it is as funny as I do.

What do You do in the Summer Time........

Play some games?

Go for a swim?

Enjoy the flowers?

Swing?

Go for a walk?

Feed the ducks?

It may be close to 100 degrees but I will never complain, summer time is the best time of the year. It will be these posts and pictures that get me through the long cold winter days and nights of January.

God knew what he was doing when he gave us the long hot days of summer.

Conversations

Our annual trip to Lava Hot Springs is fast approaching. The kids are excited and can't wait for all the fun that awaits them. At least once a day one of them asks the other two if they want to "talk about Lava." They then pick a spot to sit down and chat about a huge swimming pool with fast slides, a trip down the river in tubes, a restaurant that serves tater tots, and staying up late watching movies and playing with cousins. I hope this years trip to Lava is all that these conversations have made it out to be. I have a feeling that it will.

Growing Up

I have a confession to make. I HATE the fact that my kids have to get older. I wish I could put them in a box and keep them just the way they are right now. I love their cute faces, their kid voices, and the way they laugh hysterically at Sponge Bob and Scooby Doo. I love watching them play and listening to their conversations with each other.

People have told me that having teenagers is fun and that they loved that stage in their child rearing years. I know they are wiser and have been where I am going, but I find it hard to believe that life with teenagers can be much better than life with little ones. I guess only time will tell and I need to come to grips with the fact that time marches on and that one day all of them will grow into teenagers, then adults, and then leave me.

My goal? Enjoy every moment of these few years I have with my kids.
